Blackpool outfought and outplayed - Holloway
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway described striker DJ Campbell's red card in the 4-0 defeat at Wolves as unacceptable.
Their top scorer was sent off after 43 minutes for shoving Richard Stearman in the face with the score at 1-0.
Holloway said Campbell had been riled by a number of fouls but he would not defend the player's action.
"It's still unacceptable," Holloway said. "That's part and parcel of your job but it's out of character...and it really cost us."
However, Holloway had no complaints about the result.
"We were beaten by the better team," he said. "Everything they did looked sharp. They out-fought us, outplayed us, out-thought us and out-scored us but we have to move on.
"They played really well but too many of my players had an off day.
"More or less the first move they had they scored from and it was a mountain to climb after that.
"I just don't think we had a good day. We looked a bit jaded but you've got to pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get on with it."
McCarthy hopes Wolves' luck has changed
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy felt his side made the most of some good fortune - both before the game and during it.
"I've not come away from a game this season and thought we were lucky or were jammy. I've not said that once this season," McCarthy said.
"But after Charlie Adam [Blackpool captain] was booked on Tuesday [leading to a two-game ban], I thought then that maybe our luck was changing.
"We then scored a fabulous first goal here, then DJ Campbell gets himself sent off, and that caused them all sorts of problems.
"I said last week before we drew at West Brom that I wanted four points from the two games. We should have had all six, but I think four from the two is a good haul."
