West Brom manager Tony Mowbray hopes battling for home wins can secure top-flight survival after watching his side lose 2-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Baggies sit at the bottom of the table, three points from safety.
But with five of this season's six wins achieved at The Hawthorns, Mowbray told the BBC: "At home we create intensity.
"We look forward to these games, build up momentum and hopefully win enough. But Fulham deserved the win. We brush ourselves down and quickly move on."
Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson grabbed second-half goals, with Fulham hitting the woodwork on three occasions.
"We didn't deserve anything. We huffed and puffed and had a few opportunities - but it wasn't to be," Mowbray added.
"You have to ride your luck in the Premier League. You know you won't get a sackful of chances but you hope you can be a bit more resilient at the back and take one of your chances.
"If we had won 1-0 people would have been talking how resilient we were and about the poor finishing from Fulham."
With six games remaining at home - including fixtures against fellow strugglers Stoke and a final day tie with Liverpool - Mowbray knows it will be a struggle to ensure Premier League football for next season.
"There's no points target, every game we just try and compete," he said.
"We'll win some games, especially at home. Will we win enough? I don't know. We have some teams in the bottom half coming up and those are the days that will probably define our season.
"We need to nick another game away probably but we have to catch a team on a bad day if I'm realistic."
