West Bromwich Albion's recent Premiership revival continued with a deserved win against Manchester City. Diomansy Kamara raced through to put Albion ahead in the fifth minute.
Albion's dominance deserved further goals, and substitute Kevin Campbell added the second after 61 minutes when he headed home Paul Robinson's cross.
City's misery was completed when Andy Cole was sent off late on after two fouls in quick succession on Martin Albrechtsen and goal hero Kamara.
Kamara tested City goalkeeper David James almost instantly with a powerful drive - but had more luck when he put Albion ahead after five minutes.
He took a pass from Junichi Inamoto and was the beneficiary of a fatal piece of indecision by Ben Thatcher to run unchallenged into the area and score.
Kamara was proving a real thorn in City's side, and he almost created a second for defender Curtis Davies with a dangerous cross.
He then set Nathan Ellington up for a left-foot drive from only 10 yards, but the striker wasted the opportunity by firing wildly over the top.
Kamara was waging a one-man attack on the City defence, and James had to be alert again to deny him as Albion continue to exert total dominance.
City had barely been seen as an attacking force, but Cole had a chance to give them an underserved equaliser four minutes after half-time, but he volleyed over the top from an angle.
But it was Albion who doubled their advantage through Campbell, who had come on to replace Ellington 11 minutes before the interval.
Kanu's clever back-heel released Robinson, who produced a magnificent cross from a difficult position for Campbell to send a header high beyond James.
Albion were under no pressure and Kanu almost added a spectacular third with a bicycle kick which was off target.
Joey Barton was becoming an increasingly frustrated figure, and he was involved in an off-the-ball flare up with Ronnie Wallwork that resulted in both players being booked by referee Mike Dean.
City were in danger of losing their discipline, and Cole was sent off with three minutes to go for a clumsy challenge on Kamara just moments after clashing with Albrechtsen.
West Brom boss Bryan Robson: "I thought we showed a lot of spirit. I was really pleased with the way we went about the job.
"Diomansy Kamara was excellent. He's got real pace and can take people on and cause problems.
"I thought he gave his worst display against Fulham and I told I wanted him to turn up today and not his brother - that's why he ran over to me when he scored. He was asking me 'is that ok?' and it was.
"He's a good lad. He got a goal and was terrific all game."
Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce: "We were not good enough and the better team won. We didn't compete with them and got what we deserved. I felt sorry for our fans and we have to put it right.
"I felt there was something in this game if we played well enough, but we didn't do that.
"We did things wrong here, but we've also done a lot right this season and I must keep a level head. But I don't like losing and my players will have definitely got the vibes from me that I don't like losing."
