Leeds United boss Peter Reid has warned they are still not safe from relegation after accusing his side of conceding "terrible" goals against Spurs.
Spurs left Elland Road with a 2-2 draw after Leeds took an early lead through Mark Viduka.
Teddy Sheringham and Robbie Keane put Spurs ahead before Viduka rescued a point with a late penalty.
Leeds remain six points above the Premiership relegation zone and Reid said: "There is only one way we will be safe and that's when mathematically we can't go down."
He added: "From our point of view the goals were poor. There was a flick-on from a corner to the back stick, which is about basic defending.
"Then for the second, which is a great goal for Tottenham, our tackling left a lot to be desired.
We've just got to stop conceding daft goals - they were terrible goals to give away. |
"When you are facing a player like Robbie Keane you've got to stay on your feet, but we paid the penalty.
"With the players we've got up front we are always likely to score, but defensively we have got to tighten up.
"If we can get clean sheets from here on in then we can win games.
"The biggest thing I take out of the game is the way we kept on going.
"We got a break with the penalty, and it looked like one, but at the other end I think we got away with one."
Spurs boss Glenn Hoddles insists his side can still get into Europe, despite only getting a point.
He said: "We've got Manchester City at home and West Brom away next and we've got to beat both those teams.
"We could have come away from this game with a win and three months ago, if we had been leading 2-1 here, then we would have gone on to win.
"The mental state of Leeds at that time was a little bit fragile, but Peter Reid has come in and with confidence high after the 6-1 win at Charlton, it was always going to be difficult coming here and playing against them.
"In the end, two decisions have cost us because Kasey Keller felt he had the ball (as Kewell came in), whilst Simon Davies could have got a penalty at the other end."
