Josh Low scored twice as Cheltenham stunned high-flying Bury.
Andy Gallinagh put the visitors ahead early on with a header from Danny Andrew's corner before Low fired past Cameron Belford to double their lead.
Ben Futcher's header pulled a goal back for Bury and substitute Andy Haworth volleyed in a second-half equaliser from Steven Schumacher's corner.
Low restored Cheltenham's lead almost immediately, beating Belford with a delightful chip.
Bury manager Alan Knill tells BBC Radio Manchester: "I thought the last two home games were good opportunities for us to take six points, unfortunately it's not worked out that way.
"We were two goals down in seven minutes, and that's always a mountain to climb.
"You can have all the possession you like, but it's really about what goes on inside the penalty box and they were better than us today."
Cheltenham Town boss Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "I think that's the first time in this season that we've gone and defended in our own half and I'm disappointed we conceded a couple goals to be honest because we defended very well.
"We had a game plan that started better than we anticipated but we know we can hit teams on the break and we've limited a decent team to three or four chances at the most.
"Josh Low's first goal was outstanding, I thought he had taken one too many touches but he just smashed it in the top corner."
