Burton Albion took another step towards League Two safety with a point at bottom club Stockport.
Having dominated the opening period, the hosts should have taken the lead when Ryan Doble was sent clear but he dithered and the opportunity was gone.
Sam Winnall missed two good chances as the Brewers came into it.
The Hatters dominated after the break, Doble twice forced saves from visiting keeper Adam Legzdins and Matt Paterson lashed the ball against the crossbar.
Stockport County manager Ray Mathias told BBC Radio Manchester: "I feel sorry for the boys more than anything. Bar 15 minutes in the first half and five minutes in the second half, we dominated the game.
"We've drawn today and we're not happy with that but we'll continue.
"It will be a miracle but I feel where there is still life and points to play for, we'll be going for it."
Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby: "Away from home with our away record, it's a decent point on an absolutely horrendous football pitch.
"To be honest it was a shambles. How can you play football on that? In fairness to them, they have to try and play as well and it affected them just as much but it was just a horrible game to watch.
"Legzy (Adam Legzdins) was superb and he's been superb all season. He's held us in games and today he's had to do it again."
