Torquay continued their push for a League Two play-off berth with a convincing victory over Stevenage.
Danny Stevens gave the hosts a deserved second-half lead when he lashed the ball in from outside the penalty area.
Boro defender Mark Roberts saw red for a professional foul on Chris Zebroski in the area, but the striker fired his spot-kick against the crossbar.
The Gulls sealed the win when Stevens found Jake Robinson, who fired his shot past Chris Day at the second attempt.
Torquay United manager Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Devon: "We've controlled the game, we've kept the ball well and a clean sheet is pleasing as well so a good day for us.
"Their goalie will feel hard done by that he conceded two goals because he had a fine game.
"There's so many plusses today for us we stepped it up and we're certainly going in the right direction."
