Ryan Lowe scored in a convincing win over promotion rivals Shrewsbury to become the first Bury player to score in eight consecutive league games.
The visitors went ahead when David Worrall crossed for Andy Bishop to fire in from close range.
Steven Schumacher's corner was headed in by Lowe to double the lead.
Nicky Wroe saw his drive hit the post for the home side, before Schumacher fired in a 25-yard free-kick to round up the win for the visitors.
John Willie Parker had held Bury's record for 53 years by scoring in seven consecutive league fixtures but Lowe claimed the record for himself with his 23rd strike of the season.
The result sees Bury overtake Shrewsbury into the automatic promotion places in League Two.
Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire: "We had a good start - Jon Taylor's shot came back off the bar and Matt Harrold followed up to hit the top of the bar.
"And at 2-0, Nicky Wroe hit the post - if we'd got that back it would've lifted the crowd, lifted the players, and put Bury on a bit of an edge.
"But Bury played well with their tails up, and at the end it was a slightly embarrassing.
"We've got to make sure that doesn't affect us too much - we've got to regroup and go again at Northampton on Saturday."
Bury manager Alan Knill told BBC Radio Manchester: "I thought we deserved the win, definitely, but we could have made it so much more comfortable.
"But to win it like we did well I thought it was emphatic in the end.
"I'm delighted with the players I think they've been fantastic."
