Lincoln secured their fifth league win in a row with victory over Hereford.
Both teams had early chances with Ashley Grimes shooting wide twice and Janos Kovacs heading James McQuilkin's corner over the visitors' crossbar.
Grenada international Delroy Facey made the vital breakthrough for the Imps before the half hour, rifling a powerful shot in from 15 yards.
Gavin McCallum should have doubled their lead late on but failed to beat Adam Bartlett from close range.
Hereford manager Jamie Pitman told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "Lincoln have cancelled everything out to be honest as they just sat there and made it difficult so credit to them as they have done a good job.
"We ourselves didn't play as well as we should have been done but we have been on a good run.
"We just have to make sure we deal with that and get on with the next game."
Lincoln City manager Steve Tilson told BBC Lincolnshire: "I think in the first half we dominated and really could have been out of sight.
"We knew it was going to be tough in the second half but we defended well as a team, we had that togetherness and got bodies in the way and I thought we thoroughly deserved the win.
"We worked as a team, everyone played their part and it was a fantastic win for us. We've gone on a good run at a very good time in the season and we have to keep moving forward."
