Bottom side Stockport County held League Two table-toppers Chesterfield in a game that eventually came to life.
Ian Morris fired wide before the break and a Craig Davies free-kick hit the post after half-time.
Paul Turnbull then volleyed the Hatters into a surprise lead with a clean strike into the top corner.
Dean Smalley nodded in the equaliser from close range shortly afterwards, while Jordan Rose wasted a great chance to nick it for the hosts late on.
Chesterfield boss John Sheridan told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I think it's always going to be a difficult game, you are playing the bottom of the league and they are fighting to stay in this division.
"I thought they gave a good display tonight, Stockport, they made it very difficult on a very difficult pitch.
"I thought a draw was a very good result, we had one or two chances, they've had chances so to get a point out of the game, which was a difficult game for us and I knew it would be. To get a point I'm happy."
