Cheltenham's clash with Southend was abandoned with 22 minutes remaining because of floodlight failure.
The Robins' JJ Melligan had scored the only goal of the game when he collected Josh Low's long ball and fired across the keeper with his left foot.
High winds wreaked havoc throughout the match, with goal-kicks often being blown back into the 18-yard box.
With just over half an hour to go, a floodlight on the Speedy Skips stand went out and the match was ended.
Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "There was only going to be one winner. I'm just gutted for the players and gutted for the supporters and for everybody concerned at the club. When we replay the game we've got to make sure that we get three points.
"I understand supporters have got to come first and - that's absolutely right - but I think everybody would have waited 10 minutes just to confirm everything. At the time I just wanted an explanation."
"It's a massive game for us, three points would have put us right amongst them and I thought the performance was excellent."
Southend United manager Paul Sturrock told BBC Essex: "It was a bizarre game of football, because I think the wind dictated it tonight.
"In the first half they've had a few chances and we've had a couple and in the second half I thought we were just getting onto the front foot and were pushing for that goal.
"Then of course the lights went out so back we come on another day."
