Ten-man Stevenage hung on to beat Burton Albion in an ill-tempered clash.
Chris Holroyd missed a penalty for Boro, but the hosts did score from the spot when Scott Laird converted after Kevin Grocott tripped Lawrie Wilson.
The Brewers equalised when Aaron Webster took Lewis Young's pass and fired low into the corner of the net.
But Holroyd grabbed Stevenage's winner, beating Adam Legzdins from 15 yards, and the hosts hung on after Luke Foster saw red for a lunge on Shaun Harrad.
Stevenage manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"It would have been a fair reflection of the game if it had been three or four at half-time. There were plenty of clear chances.
"They made a change, got a little fire burning inside them and came after us after half-time. We didn't respond in the right way.
"Credit to the players under those circumstances. It would be easy to let them take the initiative."
Burton manager Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby: "They wanted it more than us, they got into stronger tackles, they had a little bit more desire than us and because of it, they found themselves a goal up after half an hour.
"It doesn't matter whether it was a penalty or not. On the basis of play, they probably deserved it.
"We're asking players to stand up and be counted and to make things happen because, at the minute, whoever's on the ball, other people are standing watching and hoping for miracles and it's not going to happen."
