Left-back Andy Sandell scored two headers to take his season's tally to four and hand Wycombe their first win since the opening day.
Sandell helped the Chairboys to a 3-0 half-time lead with both goals from Matt Bloomfield corners, sandwiched in between a Lewis Montrose 30-yarder.
Phil Walsh pulled one back for Barnet with a spectacular 25-yard drive before Bloomfield shot in off the post.
But the Bees restored some credibility with Steve Kabba's late tap-in.
Wycombe manager Gary Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio: "We can use it as a turning point but there's a lot of hard work still to be done.
"We know with the group of players we've got they're determined to get it right as well.
"That gives everyone a chance to move forward, develop and get better."
