Chris Sutton celebrated a year at the Lincoln helm with a goalless draw against Burton Albion.
The Brewers went close through Russ Penn's lob while John McGrath also saw a long-range drive fly just wide.
The Imps themselves threatened through Albert Jarrett and Josh O'Keefe but Jacques Maghoma should have won it for Albion, blazing over late on.
The result leaves Lincoln City 20th in the table with just eight points from nine games, with Burton 13th.
Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire: "We deserved to win the game. I thought the players to a man stuck at it, fought well, defended well and attacked well, other than the finishing touch again.
"We had some outstanding chances and didn't take them but overall in terms of effort and commitment it was all there, so I'm proud of the players' performances tonight.
"We're creating chances and eventually they'll have to go in. If we show that effort every week then I'm sure we'll be fine."
Burton boss Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby: "I think we played some good stuff. I think towards the end we went a little bit long ball, which I wasn't too pleased about.
"The firs- half performance was superb and I thought the two front men created chance after chance with regards to getting into the final third without having the end product, but they caused the back four all sorts of problems.
"It's another clean sheet. We wanted to make sure we didn't concede a silly goal like we did against Gillingham and we've done that, so to get a point away from home, I'm pretty pleased."
