Port Vale saw off Accrington Stanley with relative ease as they moved to the top of League Two.
Marc Richards grabbed his sixth goal of the season when he fired into the top corner from the edge of the area.
After a somewhat subdued start to the second half two substitutes combined to seal the win for the home side.
Jemal Johnson carried the ball from the edge of his own area before a fine pass found Louis Dodds, who kept his head to finish coolly.
