Chris Holroyd secured Stevenage's first ever away win in the Football League at the expense of struggling Lincoln.
The Imps dominated early on as Cian Hughton hit the side netting before Albert Jarrett and Moses Swaibu had efforts cleared off the line.
The visitors went ahead before the break when Holroyd fired past Lincoln goalkeeper Joe Anyon.
The hosts were unable to break down their opponents after the break as Stevenage secured a memorable win.
Lincoln City assistant manager Ian Pearce told BBC Lincolnshire: "Our frustration is for the players, they didn't deserve to lose today, they did enough to get a result.
"We were very disappointed against Accrington but I feel today the players showed they wanted to play, they gave us everything and unfortunately it's not gone our way.
"Stevenage had one chance and they won the game. We're not getting the breaks at the moment but you can't keep saying that, you have to make your own luck and we're working hard and trying to turn that corner."
Stevenage manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio: "Credit to the players. They haven't been disheartened by the results that haven't come their way. They have put in some terrific performances and come away without the points. It's nice to bring the three points home.
"It makes you look a good manager when you bring in a new player and he does OK. I think he [Chris Holroyd] is everything we needed. When you give him a chance he is lethal.
"They kept coming at us and I thought the back four worked very hard. The team did to keep a clean sheet. It was a solid all-round team performance."
