James Constable scored an equaliser before being sent off as Oxford United grabbed a draw at Crewe Alexandra.
David Artell headed home Ashley Westwood's corner to give the Railwaymen a first-half lead.
United levelled 20 minutes from time, Constable converting at the second attempt as Crewe were hit on the break.
The home side had a Shaun Miller effort ruled out for offside before Constable was dismissed three minutes from time for a second bookable offence.
