Torquay United moved to the top of League Two despite being held to a goalless draw by Accrington Stanley.
The swirling wind around Plainmoor meant that chances were scarce during the first half.
Torquay's best chance came after the break but Chris Zebroski's volley was well saved by keeper Ian Dunbavin.
Accrington nearly broke the deadlock in stoppage time but Scott Bevan's fantastic reflex save kept out Andrew Procter's powerful header.
Torquay United manager Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Devon: "We knew it was going to be difficult, the pitch was very dry and both teams cancelled each other out really.
"There was a stage in the second-half where we got on top and forced a lot of set plays but we couldn't quite find that finish. In the end, a draw was probably a fair result.
"I'm very proud of the players, we're at the top of the league and teams are coming to try and cancel us out."
