Northampton had to come from behind to beat Southend and secure their first victory of the season.
Blair Sturrock wasted a good early chance for the visitors after being put through by Louie Soares.
Anthony Grant broke the deadlock after the break when he volleyed home a cross from Bilel Mohsni.
But Abdul Osman equalised seven minutes later and Andy Holt secured the points for the Cobblers when he headed home a Michael Jacobs corner.
Northampton manager Ian Sampson told BBC Radio Northampton: "After four draws on the trot, we're delighted to get the three points.
"You could see when we went 2-1 up the confidence started to come back and passes started to hit their targets.
"We responded well after going behind - we're a young group but we keep coming back and keep coming back."
Southend United manager Paul Sturrock told BBC Essex: "We've shot ourselves in the foot here today - there were three points here for the taking.
"But as soon as we went one nothing up we believed we'd won the game, but we forgot to tell our opposition that as well.
"The goals were just comical as far as I was concerned."
