Sean McConville scored a hat-trick to help Accrington Stanley to a comfortable win over Macclesfield.
The home side took the lead when Ray Puterill's cross was slid in at the far post by McConville.
The hosts doubled their advantage just before half-time when McConville turned in the area and fired home.
Emile Sinclair wasted Macclesfield's best chance when he blasted over before McConville completed his hat-trick when he blasted in from 25 yards.
Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester: "It was a disappointing result but most of all it was a disappointing performance as well.
"I don't know if we were a bit leggy or the pitch sapped our legs more than it did their legs, but they are just excuses, they are not reasons really.
"I could back them for giving their all and chasing lost causes - things which we've been renowned for and good at. But today we just didn't do it."
