A Justin Richards double helped Cheltenham ease their relegation worries with a deserved win at Crewe.
The visitors took the lead with Josh Low passing to Michael Pook who crossed for Richards to cleverly chest the ball down and blast home from 15 yards.
Richards made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after Daniel O'Donnell pulled back Shane Duff in the box.
Crewe finally burst to life with Carl Martin coming off the bench to poke the ball in following a free-kick.
The three points now gives Cheltenham some breathing space - they are seven points above Grimsby, who are second from bottom in League Two.
Cheltenham boss Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "I'm delighted with the players' performances over the last 48 hours.
"I asked for some spirit and some commitment and some effort - I got that in abundance and I also got some quality."
"I felt we were the better side throughout, I thought it was a comfortable win, but it was only comfortable because we did the basics right and then looked a decent team."
