Julian Alsop's second-half strike helped Cheltenham ease their relegation worries with a narrow win over Lincoln.
The visitors started well with Davide Somma seeing a goal ruled out for offside and the striker also fired a left foot shot wide of the post.
Cheltenham hit back and just before the break Justin Richards had an effort cleared off the line by Joe Anderson.
The winner arrived in the 47th minute when Alsop poked in after Josh Low's shot was blocked by Paul Green.
Cheltenham assistant manager John Schofield told Radio BBC Gloucestershire: "It was a pretty even contest over the 90 minutes but perhaps we shaded it with the better chances.
"At this stage it's not about how good, bad or indifferent you are, it's about the three points.
"Our aim was to stretch the gap (over Grimsby) and we've still got a game in hand. We've got to steadily accumulate points.
"It was a good finish from Julian Alsop and a pleasing day. He wears his heart on his sleeve and leads by example."
Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire: "In the first half we played some good stuff at times but we didn't turn up at all for the second half. On the balance of play they probably deserved the victory.
"Coming in at 0-0 wasn't the worst result for us at half-time and going into the second half we had to do more of the same, but I think it's fair to say that we might as well not have bothered coming out for the second half.
"We're not safe and our second-half performance showed why we're not safe. We can't take anything for granted, this was a big game for us and we came up well short."
