Shaun Harrad grabbed his 17th goal of the season to set Burton on their way to a vital win over Accrington Stanley and keep their play-off hopes alive.
Cleveland Taylor was the creator as the winger created space down the right before Harrard turned in his low cross.
And Burton wrapped up the win in the 79th minute when Greg Pearson chased down a goal kick to slot in the second.
The hosts' best chances fell to Darran Kempson, who headed over, and Andy Proctor, who shot wide from close in.
Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido: "It was an excellent performance.
"The pitch wasn't in great condition, so you expect the lads to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in, and they certainly did that.
"I thought we played extremely well, we closed down extremely well, we stuck to the game plan pretty well, and we took the goals to perfection."
