Substitute Jeff Goulding's injury-time equaliser secured a precious point for second-placed Bournemouth against promotion rivals Notts County.
Had County held on to the win they would have leapfrogged the Cherries.
Lee Hughes gave County a 22nd-minute lead, firing in after goalkeeper Shwan Jalal saved his initial penalty.
Brett Pitman's 50th-minute free-kick made it 1-1, but Hughes restored County's lead when he converted Ben Davies' cross, before Goulding scored.
Notts County boss Steve Cotterill told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I think overall we didn't do enough to win the game. At 2-1 we always needed that other goal.
"It feels a bit like a defeat with it being so late in the game. We weren't quite at it like we have been.
"The dressing room is a bit sombre at the moment as it's cruel when it's so late, but there's lots of games left to play and we have moved up another place."
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told BBC Radio Solent: "There weren't too many clear cut chances but I'm delighted with the goal we got and I felt we deserved it.
"Jeff Goulding has been really patient, he's worked ever so hard and always shown a good attitude and I think that's been his reward tonight.
"I'm pleased with a point. It keeps us in a good position and that might be important come the end of the season."
