Bury moved back into the top three of League Two despite being held to a draw by bottom side Darlington.
The Quakers took the lead through Tadhg Purcell's penalty after Ryan Cresswell brought down Gary Smith in the area.
Ryan Lowe equalised, also from the spot, after Josh Gray tangled with Shakers midfielder Stephen Dawson.
Bury had dominated early on and Mike Jones had a header cleared off the line but the closest they came to a winner was when Lowe and Jones fired over.
