Seb Harris climbed off the bench to score his first Northampton goal and earn them a narrow win over Cheltenham.
A sluggish first half on a heavy pitch yielded only one chance of note, Cheltenham keeper Scott Brown superbly denying John Johnson's header.
The hosts broke through when Adebayor Akinfenwa converted Liam Davis's cross, only for Marley Watkins to level from David Hutton's centre.
But Harris had the final say when he headed home Alex Dyer's cross.
Northampton Town manager Ian Sampson told BBC Radio Northampton:
"I think it was a really good win. It was important we followed up the Hereford win with another one.
"I thought the lads dominated the game. There weren't too many shots on our keeper.
"It would've been a travesty if we hadn't come away with three points."
Cheltenham town Manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"We probably deserved a point but we switched off and didn't defend a corner properly, so we go home without any points".
"The second half was much better, but in the first half we didn't do the right things and never really threatened. And if you don't start well it sometimes can catch up with you - and it did."
