Bury suffered a setback in their promotion push as they failed to overcome battling Morecambe.
After a disappointing first half, the Shrimps twice came close to taking the lead through Craig Stanley.
Visiting keeper Barry Roche had to pull off a superb save to thwart Bury's Mike Jones and Garry Hunter's firm drive was deflected into the side-netting.
Bury almost snatched a victory late on as Lowe headed inches wide and then skipper Stephen Dawson blazed over.
