Cheltenham eased their relegation fears at the bottom of League Two as Julian Alsop and Matt Thornhill both scored to help them see off Morecambe.
Alsop opened the scoring when he rose to head home David Bird's corner and equal his club's all-time Football League goalscoring record of 38 goals.
Thornhill fired in a second after Alsop knocked Bird's cross into his path.
Morecambe's best chance of a reply came and went when Scott Brown saved Stewart Drummond's shot from point-blank range.
Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"We deserved it. From the first minute to the last we worked hard and the boys can be pleased with the effort and quality we put in".
"We're not going to be a silky team- but we know our strengths and we played to them very well".
"Records are great for people like Julian [Alsop], who's been a good player for this club, but 3 points was what it was all about".
