Accrington's play-off push was derailed by two late Lincoln goals which moves the Imps further away from danger at the wrong end of the table.
Stanley looked on course for victory when Bobby Grant slotted home after being released by Michael Symes.
Stevie Lennon broke through to level things up from six yards.
And Lincoln snatched an unlikely win when Ian Pearce's low cross deflected off Stanley defender Darran Kempson and rolled into the visitors' net.
Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire:
"I wouldn't say we really deserved the win, but on the other hand we've performed decently in recent weeks and haven't got the results our performances have deserved.
"We had some good chances in the first-half and so did they, but when they hit the post in the second-half we felt that was a turning point.
"We got back in it and may have been fortunate to win but the players kept going to the end which is important - it was a massive win for us."
