Dagenham ended a run of four successive defeats with a home victory over second-placed Bournemouth.
Mark Arber grabbed the only goal of the game from the penalty spot, the Daggers skipper sending Shwan Jalal the wrong way after Peter Gain had been upended.
Other than the goal, there was little action in the first half.
After the break, Daggers came close to a second as Paul Benson's shot crashed against the bar and Graeme Montgomery's follow-up was cleared off the line.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told BBC Radio Solent:
"I didn't think it was a penalty, there was minimal contact.
"We tried different things to try and get a goal and it never happened.
"It just wasn't to be today, we lacked a little bit of quality in the final third."
