Aldershot eased past 10-man Northampton in an ill-tempered clash to boost their hopes of a promotion play-off spot.
The hosts had Kevin Thornton sent off for a tackle on Anthony Straker and conceded from the resulting free-kick.
Scott Donnelly crossed for Marvin Morgan to nod in the first before a 15-man brawl ensued a few minutes later.
Kirk Hudson slotted in after a long-ball from Lewis Chalmers and Morgan tapped in the third after keeper Chris Dunn failed to deal with a back-pass.
Northampton Town manager Ian Sampson told BBC Radio Northampton:
"I'm not 100% certain it was a sending off. We go with the referee's decision. I'd like to see it again.
"We regrouped and we held our own in the first half.
"We thought we were in the game so we tried to get some fresh legs on and we did try to play the right way."
Aldershot boss Kevin Dillon told BBC Radio Surrey:
"I got the reaction I wanted after Saturday.
"I though we stood up to them. They are a good team and will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
"That was probably the best result we've had since I came to the club."
