Adam Le Fondre hit two first-half goals as a dominant Rotherham took the points against relegation-haunted Grimsby.
The Millers took the lead after nine minutes when Micky Cummins fed Le Fondre and the prolific striker hit the mark from just inside the area.
Le Fondre then poked home a loose ball after Nick Colgan had saved a Cummins header from Nicky Law's corner.
Grimsby had to wait until second-half added time before an unmarked Wes Fletcher hit their consolation goal.
Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"It was a great performance and a great come-back from our last game. I thought it was a good team display, but we're disappointed to give a goal away.
"I'm just happy with the whole way we played. We played football and got the ball in the box.
"The back four coped well today to be fair and with Nick Fenton coming back, it'll be interesting decision to make for me on who'll play midweek."
