Crewe ended their five-game winless run at home with victory over Burton.
Clayton Donaldson got the hosts off to the perfect start 12 minutes in, cutting past Tony James and curling in.
Soon after they doubled their lead when Calvin Zola clipped the ball over Artur Krysiak and after it came back off the post, Joel Grant fired in the rebound.
Crewe missed several further chances but Burton improved and after Russell Penn hit the bar, Richard Walker poked in from close range for a consolation.
