Mikhael Jamiez-Ruiz produced a superb display in the Aldershot goal as the visitors recorded a fourth straight clean sheet to frustrate Notts County.
The Venezuelan tipped Lee Hughes's downward header over in the first half and then saved drilled efforts from Luke Rodgers and Matt Ritchie.
Scott Donnelly also cleared Hughes's deft header off the line as Notts, now unbeaten in 11 games, pushed on.
Marvin Morgan twice went close as the Shots rallied late on but it ended 0-0.
Notts County manager Hans Backe told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"Our performance and the attacking game was a good performance and you should win a game like this but there were not really 100% scoring chances - there were a lot of half-chances.
"I would still say I cannot complain about the way we controlled the game against a counter-attacking side but when you are in the 18-yard box that many times you should score.
"When you meet a counter-attacking side dropping back with nine players behind the ball you need a lot of movement and sharp passing play and perhaps we ran a little bit too much with the ball."
Aldershot Town manager Kevin Dillon told BBC Surrey:
"The performance was excellent, and if was being greedy I thought we could have nicked it.
"We caught them on the counter attack on at least four occasions during the second half.
"On another occasion Marvin could have scored but we've created chances again, which I'm happy with."
