Managerless Grimsby produced a spirited performance to hold neighbours Lincoln.
Anthony Pulis went close with a long-range shot, while Grimsby's Peter Sweeney had a penalty shout turned down, but first-half chances were rare.
Grimsby's Paul Linwood headed wide from close range after the break and Jamie Clarke's shot was saved by Nick Colgan.
Adam Watts had an effort cleared off the line but he was later stretchered off after a collision with Joe Widdowson, who was also forced off.
Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:
"I think maybe we just possibly edged it but it's evident we need to do more going forward, but I can't fault the commitment and attitude of the players.
"There's no doubt we have problems with injuries and suspensions but we've just got to patch things up and go again on Tuesday.
"We could do with a break or two at the moment but that's the nature of the game. We're in it for the long haul, we want to move forward quickly but we've got to be patient."
