Arber headed the only goal for the Daggers at the Crown Ground
Dagenham and Redbridge moved to the top of League Two on goal difference above Bournemouth after Mark Arber headed the only goal of the game at Accrington.
Arber was left unmarked at the far post to head home Danny Green's corner six minutes before the break.
But the visitors had Scott Doe to thank for two goal-line clearances after efforts by Bobby Grant and Jimmy Ryan.
John Miles also hit the bar for the hosts, while Paul Benson was denied by keeper Ian Dunbavin at the other end.
Dagenham and Redbridge manager John Still tells BBC Essex:
"The first thing we said to the players was that we had to battle. We knew it was going to be tough.
"I thought that everyone dug in and worked their socks off.
"Conditions were very difficult for both teams, and they kept misplacing their passes, and I think that was down to the conditions."
