Burton played out their first 0-0 draw as a Football League club to deny Bury their sixth away win of the campaign.
The first half was dominated by two well-drilled defences and neither goalkeeper was seriously tested.
Bury's best opening came in the 16th minute but Stephen Dawson's drive from the edge of the area flew straight into the hands of Artur Krysiak.
Burton had a late chance when Waybe Brown reacted superbly to tip over a Shaun Harrad shot in the 83rd minute.
Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby:
"After a bad loss and conceding a lot of goals we were back at the races today.
"We had enough chances where perhaps we could have won it well but you've got to be pleased as they're an excellent side."
