Morecambe and Shrewsbury Town ended with a point apiece, a goal apiece and a red card each at Christie Park.
Joss Labadie put Town ahead, punishing Andy Parrish's foul from a 25-yard free kick, but Morecambe quickly levelled.
Phil Jevons' excellent first-time ball played in midfielder Stewart Drummond to score against his old club.
Morecambe's Danny Adams was then sent off for a foul on Jake Robinson and, just three minutes later, Labadie also went early for a second yellow card.
It was Morecambe's seventh draw in eight games, dropping them to 21st in League Two - just three points away from danger.
In-form Shrewsbury stretched their unbeaten run to five games to rise a place in the table to fifth.
Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire:
"Joss Labadie's goal was a fantastic strike. You can't teach players that sort of thing - it's pure ability.
"Unfortunately we've also seen the young and inexperienced Joss Labadie, who allows himself to be sent off for a petulant, stupid second yellow card.
"It's a good point for us but, after getting off to such a good start, I thought we could have gone on to win it.
"In the end both sides will have thought they could have got a win, so I'm pleased it keeps our unbeaten run going."
