Wesley Thomas snatched a late goal as Dagenham fought back to gain a point in a hard-fought draw.
A goalless first-half saw Daggers keeper Tony Roberts twice deny Marc Pugh while Josh Scott missed a chance at the other end.
Walker broke the deadlock in the 80th minute when his well hit 20-yard shot was parried over the line by Roberts.
Three minutes later, Thomas out-jumped the Hereford defence to head Danny Green's cross home from close range.
Hereford manager John Trewick told BBC Hereford & Worcester:
"I thought we handed the conditions well in the first half to be honest and did a good job.
"In the second half we had different conditions to contend with because when you are playing with the wind it changes things.
"But over the 90 minutes I thought we did more than enough to win the game."
Dagenham and Redbridge manager John Still told BBC Essex:
"The conditions were terrible, the wind was swirling round.
"We've battled really, really well and I thought we gave a really determined performance, as did they.
"We've come here and shown the character that we need to show when we're away from home to get something and we've done that."
