Lee Hughes scored one and set up two others as Notts Country ended Dagenham & Redbridge's 100% record to move top of League Two on goal difference.
Hughes had already threatened on two occasions before his header from a Ben Davies free-kick broke the deadlock.
Karl Hawley doubled the lead, slotting in a low cross from Hughes for his first goal since signing from Preston.
Hughes fed Johnnie Jackson to make it 3-0 with a cool finish before Luke Rodgers hit the post from 20 yards out.
Notts County manager Ian McParland told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"I thought we were excellent today, they are a tough team. They are a hard-working side but we didn't give them a sniff today.
"We've scored off our fourth or fifth set-play and the boys have got good movement in the box. It's good to get a head or a touch on them."
Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still told BBC Essex:
"I wasn't disappointed, they played well, we weren't great. We didn't get enough service in from our wide players today."
"They're only kids, and when you have kids there are going to be mistakes."
