Lee Sawyer's late equaliser inched Wycombe closer to automatic promotion as plucky Port Vale battled to a draw.
The home side looked to be heading towards a shock victory after defender Lee Collins fired them into the lead.
Vale squandered a great chance to double their lead when visiting keeper Jamie Young plunged to save at the feet of Danny Glover.
And Wycombe substitute John-Paul Pittman made set up a simple tap-in for the onrushing Sawyer to level.
