Grimsby staved off their relegation worries with a comfortable home win over a dismal Port Vale.
Barry Conlan put the hosts ahead after four minutes, following in to finish after his own header was blocked.
Nathan Jarman's sweetly-struck volley doubled the lead before Conlan pounced on a fumble by visiting keeper Chris Martin just after the break.
Vale did have the ball in the net after a 72nd-minute goalmouth scramble but saw the effort ruled out.
