Spireites top scorer Jack Lester's two goals took his haul to 19 for the season

Chesterfield boosted their play-off hopes with a fine 3-0 victory over promotion hopefuls Rochdale.

The hosts opened the scoring when Jack Lester took advantage of a sliced clearance from defender Tom Kennedy before firing past Frank Fielding.

Lester grabbed his second on the hour with a clever turn and finish from just inside the penalty area.

Gregor Robertson sealed victory when he latched onto a clever back heel from Lloyd Kerry before beating Fielding.
