Bournemouth dropped back into the bottom two of League Two after being held to a goalless draw by Port Vale.
The Cherries found it tough to break down a tough Vale defence although Mark Molesley twice went close to scoring.
His first effort clipped the outside of the post with Joe Anyon wrong-footed, before his fierce 25-yard shot had to be tipped round the post by the keeper.
Vale threatened through Scott Brown, whose shot went just wide, and Marc Richards, who missed by inches.
Vale's battling draw helped put the Cherries back into the danger zone, coupled with Grimsby Town's sudden five-goal blitz against Lincon City.
Vale boss Dean Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "They were on a high after climbing out of the bottom two, so we've had to dig in.
"I can't fault the commitment of the lads defensively and, in the end, we've come away with a valid point.
"If we can keep that commitment and endeavour there, the results will come, but we need to be more ruthless."
