Rochdale boosted their promotion hopes with victory over Darlington.

Adam Le Fondre fired Rochdale into a 28th-minute lead after collecting Scott Wiseman's pass.

Pawel Abbott levelled on the hour from close range but Adam Rundle restored the lead two minutes later when he thumped in a low shot from 10 yards.

A minute after that, Darlington had midfielder Ricky Ravenhill sent off for a two-footed tackle, while striker Liam Hatch was stretchered off later.
