Chester 0-1 Gillingham

Andy Barcham's late goal was enough to give Gillingham the points and overcome Chester's dogged resistance.

Barcham scored from close range in the 79th minute after Jaime Peters' surging run and cross from the right flank.

Kevin Roberts almost equalised for the hosts with four minutes left, only for his header to be cleared off the line.

In a game of few chances, Chester also had a penalty appeal turned down when Richie Partridge appeared to be tripped by Stuart Lewis after 20 minutes.
