Chesterfield fans vented their anger at manager Lee Richardson after watching their side lose to Macclesfield.

Martin Gritton put the visitors in front and Lee Bell pounced on Kevin Austin's mistake to fire in a second, before Jamie Ward pulled a goal back.

Gritton added a third before Ward gave Chesterfield renewed hope, but a Gareth Evans lob secured the win.

Both sides had a man sent off in the closing stages as Alan Goodall clashed with Silkmen substitute Francis Green.
