Luton 2-1 Dag & Red

Paul McVeigh scored the winning goal as Luton beat Dagenham by a single goal.

The Hatters took an early lead as defender Sol Davis converted a cross from on-loan Norwich striker Chris Martin, slotting home from close range.

The visitors equalised through Magnus Okuonghae, the midfielder finishing sweetly from Sam Saunders' corner.

But it was former Norwich striker McVeigh who proved to be the hero for the home side, as he finished smoothly from another Martin assist.

Luton manager Mick Harford tells BBC Three Counties Radio:

"It was a very decent Dagenham outfit, who came, worked hard, and put us under pressure. All credit to John Still, he's got those players grafting and grafting. We had to overcome that, we matched them and for the first time this season we created a hell of a lot of chances.

"They are dangerous and we did invite a few free kicks and corners into our area, but apart from the one that we conceded, we defended magnificently."
