Port Vale skipper Marc Richards snatched an injury-time winner to secure a desperately-needed victory.

Richards pounced to turn the ball into an empty net after a superb low cross from Luke Rodgers.

Rodgers shot Vale ahead on 80 minutes when he capitalised on a slip by Jim Bentley to beat Barry Roche.

The visitors levelled when Bentley scored with a fine header from Craig Stanley's corner but Rodgers secured the points late on.
