Brentford extended their unbeaten league run to eight games after a hard-fought victory over Macclesfield.

Charlie MacDonald gave the home side the lead early in the first half when he smashed his right-footed shot in the top-right corner of the goal.

Simon Yeo could have brought the visitors level just before half-time but his right-footed strike was saved.

MacDonald had a chance to score his second after after the break but could only direct his shot at Jon Brain.
